"I have just started making a Puppy and Yearling Drum version of the Majik rig. It employs a one ounce weight with a 4/0 circle hook and a 3/4 inch leader. It looks just like a miniature version of the Majik Old Drum rig. It took some time to get the leader size just right for the slot drum and yearlings, but I've caught 50 on it in the past couple of weeks and only had one that wasn't jaw hooked. I also caught two old drum on that little rig by accident."

His custom, hand-made Old Drum rigs utilize circle hooks on a short leader to increase catch rates and significantly reduce deep-hooking. This results in more successful catch-and-release of these great fish.
